Do You Believe the Bible?

If you answer that question in the affirmative, your belief will move you to action. You cannot study the Holy Scriptures and remain unchanged! Regardless of your condition—sinner or saint—you will change.

Some don’t!

Some say they do, but they don’t live it.

Then some say they believe the Bible, and quite obviously they do practice its teachings.

The Bible is God’s Word. God did “breathe” into holy men, and they spoke (and wrote) His will.

Some claim the Bible is incorrect historically and inaccurate scientifically. If indeed this were true, we might question whether the Bible really contains the answer for our spiritual needs.

But did you know that the Bible told us the shape of the earth before Columbus proved it? Isaiah 40:22, speaking of God, says, “it is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth.”

Archaeologists, in their exploration of Bible lands, have found that the Bible’s historical records are accurate. For example, archaeologists have uncovered many Babylonish tablets made soon after the flood that refer to this event. Obviously, a flood did destroy the earth, just as the Bible said, though the faithless critics deny it. As Sir Isaac Newton said, “There are more sure marks of authenticity in the Bible, than any profane [secular] history.”

The Bible also gives us facts that we could never discover by research or by reasoning. These facts deal with spiritual things. The Bible tells us how God wants us to live. It speaks of God’s love for humanity and of the impending judgment upon those who refuse His hand of mercy.

The Bible tells how Jesus Christ became a man. He lived on the earth for 33 years to show us how to live. And he died for sin—our sin. Through His death, all who receive Him have their sins forgiven. will

Jesus’ glorious resurrection from the dead is not a myth, but a fact. He arose, showing us that those who believe in Him will someday rise to eternal life. Then He ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God to intercede for us. He will return soon in the clouds. All of this we learn from the Bible.

You may already believe this. If so, why not learn more from the Bible about how God wants you to live? It is not all that complicated. God, by the same Spirit who inspired holy men to write, is now ready and able to reveal His will to you. He reveals His will through the Scriptures.

You cannot seriously study the Holy Scriptures and remain unchanged! Regardless of your condition—vilest sinner or saint—you will change.
