How long is eternity?

No end in sight! No end! Forever and for-ever! What startling words! The life God breathed into man makes man an eternal being-one whose life will never end.

Man can hardly comprehend a period of one million years. But let’s try. A thousand years is ten times the life span of our oldest people. Now multiply 1,000 x 1,000 and you have one million years. Even that gives no idea of eternity, for a million years subtracted from eternity will not make it one bit shorter.

What will eternity be like?

What will YOU be doing a million, a billion and more years from now? One who has lived in all eternity past, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to earth from heaven and told us much about the eternal state of men after death. According to Luke 16:25, in eternity the righteous are comforted and the wicked are tormented.

One place is light and the other is dark. One place has singing, the other has weeping. One has rivers of water, the other is without a drop of water. In heaven the righteous will be with bright angels. In hell the wicked will be with awful demons. In heaven are the pure and happy saints of God. In hell are the raging sinners of Satan.

In eternity, hope will never, never shine again for those who neglect Christ. Thirsty forever. Tired and without rest…forever. Pain…pain without end…forever.

Choking, screaming, moaning, and groaning in the fire forever and ever. All this in darkness without end, where morning will never, never, never come. Oh, think of that utter darkness! That awful “outer darkness” continues on forever and ever with no end in sight.

Stop! Allow these staggering to enter your mind. Don’t think of them too long or it will drive you mad. But think of them long enough to drive you to the Saviour who died to deliver “us from the wrath to come” (I Thessalonians 1:10).

Where will YOU spend eternity?

Because of sin in the human heart and life, every soul is doomed to a lost eternity. But, praise the Lord, God in His mercy and love sent His Son to save us FROM our sins. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Prepare for eternity NOW.

Repent of your sins. Turn your life over completely to Christ, confessing Him as your new controller and Lord. Join the company of redeemed ones now, and be prepared for eternity – eternity with the innumerable company of saints who will be with Christ serving Him and reigning forever and ever (Revelation 22:3-5).

For those who come to Christ, and live for Him, sins are all gone here and now! Deliverance! Victory! Joy unspeakable and full of glory! And what great things are eternally in store for the blood-washed saints of God!

The god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the multitudes so that they are deceived into thinking that Christians are a group of miserable ascetics. What a lie! Many have tried both ways, and now know real joy in Christ. Come! Join us in a happy and joyous life here and for the unending millions of ages of unspeakable glory in eternity.
