Jesus, in the garden of Gethsemane, faced His “cup” with courage and confidence in the Father. Believers must also face their “cup” and their cross. Face it like Jesus.
Christ came to minister to hurting hearts. Would you learn of Him how to help others find beauty despite their piles of ashes? Like Him, you must be filled with the Spirit.
So you are finding yourself in deep water, and counseling has been suggested as a solution. How will you know whether you need to be counseled? How will you find a Biblical counselor? What are some dangers you should be aware of? The help you need may be nearer than you first thought.
From Gideon’s pitchers to the alabaster box, to the five loaves and two fishes and the bread we eat today—all needed to be broken. We too must be broken, like David and Peter, to be useful to God.
The song writer answered this question for us: “Oh, yes, He cares! I know He cares!” But how does He show that He cares when we face difficulties, disease, disaster, death? Be comforted as you listen to this sermon, and learn to recognize ways that Jesus is showing you that He really cares.
We will never understand everything in this life. If we knew and understood the "WHY" behind life's perplexities and pain, we wouldn't need God, or faith. Sometimes God allows us to experience hard things so He can reveal His power and love to us. Then the glory will go to Him, not us.
Why do people get sick? Who is to blame for physical suffering? How can illness be prevented? A look at these questions and more, and a reminder that we will only wish for physical healing as long as we live in our physical bodies. May God receive glory from our lives in both sickness and health!
It is safe to say that all of us have dealt with discouragement at one time or another. Whatever the cause discouragement is an unpleasant friend who will harm you if you let him stay. There are several steps that can be taken to kick discouragement out of your life.
To this difficult question, there is no answer. And yet, God gives an answer to His children: Trust God. His reasons, thoughts and intents are infinitely beyond human capacity to understand. Will we accept the fact that God owes us no explanation for what He allows?
"Is any sick among you?" We cry out against the physical, emotional, and spiritual infirmities we face in our fallen humanity and long for the state of perfection as when God first created man. However... what do we do when there is illness?
There are many kinds of emotional problems, and causes for them. They seem to be increasing at an alarming rate. What might be causing this epidemic? Do emotional difficulties bring opportunities for spiritual growth? God has designed us with emotions that can enrich our lives if lived by His plan.

Sometimes Christians get the idea that they should be able to enjoy God’s blessings without being subjected to His testings. However, God has told us that trials and suffering can be expected. Jesus' presence and the grace to endure hardships are promised, not comfort and pleasure here on earth.
Hard times can either make us bitter or more holy. Three things are needed to successfully meet the trials of life—wisdom, prayer, and faith. When we face our trials with these, we will be able by the grace of God to use them to help us grow to be more like Jesus.
